X-plosion 11U baseball team excels in events

The X-plosion 11U travel baseball squad won the 10-team Bayou Vista Season Breakout tournament April 25-26. The tournament consisted of teams from Cecilia to St. Bernard.

Bowling association honors members

The Morgan City U.S. Bowling Congress Bowling Association named its Bowler of the Year during its awards ceremony Saturday. Rick Sartwell earned the honor.

Eagles to face Blue Jays in Class 1A semifinal

Central Catholic coach Tyler Jensen holds up another runner, while Samuel Guarisco heads home to score a run in the Eagles’ Class 1A regional round victory against Ascension Episcopal. The Eagles, the No. 6 seed, are returning to the Class 1A semifinals for the fourth consecutive year. They will face No. 7 St. Edmund Friday at 5 p.m. on Field 37 at McMurry Park. Central Catholic High School will make its fourth Class 1A semifinal appearance in as many years when the Eagles step on the field Friday to face St. Edmund in a 5 p.m.

Local women's bowling association honors members

The Morgan City U.S. Bowling Congress Women’s Bowling Association honored its team champions from its annual city tournament during its recent annual meeting. Shear Elegance received the honor. Team members include, from left, Betty Grow, Jan Holland, Sue Williams and Jo Bailey Gaudet.
