Deep South Racing Association held its “Battle on the Basin” races Saturday and Sunday on Flat Lake near Russo’s Landing in Morgan City. While rain disrupted Saturday’s event, Sunday’s racing went on without a hitch, and organizers were able to get in action that could not be completed Saturday. Tri-City area teams had a rough time in Week 1 of the prep football season as just one of four teams was victorious.
Deep South Racing Association’s “Battle on the Basin” will return to Russo’s Landing in Morgan City Saturday and Sunday. Racing will be held in eight classes. Anywhere from 45 to 55 boats are expected, Deep South Racing Association President/Owner Jed Angelle said today. Racing will begin at 11 a.m. each day.
