All area games today are postponed

Patterson’s Larry Turner attempts a layup during the Lumberjacks’ contest with Ellender earlier this month. Patterson’s boys and girls will play their District 9-3A contests at Donaldsonville, but instead of today, the teams will meet on the
court Saturday afternoon due to weather conditions. All other athletic events have been postponed today due to the weather.

Staff Report
All St. Mary Parish athletic events have been postponed until at least Saturday as school officials are erring on the side of caution against potentially
hazardous roadways accompanying the cold weather.
St. Mary Parish Assistant Superintendent Keith Thibodeaux made the announcement today around 11 a.m.
Central Catholic followed suit and postponed its boys’ and girls’ basketball games at Ellender, which now will be held on an unspecified date in February, Central
Catholic Athletic Director Ree Case said.
As for makeups, Patterson’s boys’ and girls’ District 9-3A matchups at Donaldsonville will be held Saturday. That contest was rescheduled prior to Thibodeaux’s 11 a.m. announcement.
Patterson’s games will tip off with junior varsity boys at 4 p.m., followed by varsity girls’ and boys’ action, respectively.
Other rescheduled games include Morgan City boys' and girls' basketball at South Terrebonne, which now will be played Wednesday in Bourg with girls taking the court at 6 p.m. and boys to follow at 7 p.m.
The Morgan City Tigers’ and Lady Tigers’ district soccer games at E.D. White in Thibodaux have been rescheduled for Jan. 31 in Thibodaux. Because Morgan City was scheduled to host E.D. White on that date, they now will host them Feb. 3.
No Berwick athletic events were scheduled for tonight.
