WILLIAM AUGUST JR.
Mr. William August Jr., 67, a resident of Baldwin and native of the Four Corners Community, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 2:45 p.m., at A.M.G. Specialty Hospital in Lafayette following a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ever Lee August of Baldwin; five sons, Dwayne Pierre and William Pierre, both of Baldwin, Brad August Sr. and Rev. Gerard August Sr., both of Jeanerette, and Brian August of Morgan City; five daughters, Miss Jackie Pierre and Miss Patricia Pierre, both of Baldwin, Miss Juanita Pierre of Jeanerette, Miss Alicia August of Sorrell and Miss Mary August of Morgan City; four brothers, Joseph Feast and Joseph August, both of Jeanerette, John Marks of Beaumont, Texas, and Clarence Marks of Jackson, Mississippi; six sisters, Miss Jessie Marks, Miss Bessie Marks, Miss Barbara Marks and Mrs. Mary Brooks, all of Jeanerette, Mrs. Eldora Arceneaux and Mrs. Josie Akins, both of New Iberia; 26 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Mr. August was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother and one sister.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, July 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Otis Mortuary, Inc. Chapel on Willow St. in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Gerard August Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Sorrell Community Cemetery on Hwy. 318 in Sorrell.
