Jean Bobbie “Sapphire” Thomas-Darby

Jean Bobbie “Sapphire” Thomas-Darby, 65, a native of Shadyside and a resident of Verdunville, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Nazarene Cemetery in Franklin. The Rev. Carl F. Lewis will officiate the services.
Survivors include a son, Henry Lee Darby Jr., of Verdunville; two daughters, Jessica Mae Johnson, of St. Joseph, and Runiqa Janeze Darby, of Thibodaux; five brothers, Wayne Thomas, of Verdunville, Ricky Thomas, of Centerville, Harry Lee Thomas, of St. Martinville, Ron Hawkins, of Wichita, Kansas, and John Hawkins, of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Faye Coleman and Greta Francis, both of Baldwin, and Karen Gier, of Bayou Vista; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, two grandchildren, six brothers and a sister.
Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City-Franklin-Jeanerette-Houma is in charge of arrangements.
