Bernard C. “Bernie” Marino, 77, a resident of Morgan City, passed away March 6, 2014, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
Bernie was born on April 18, 1936, in Morgan City, the son of Carlo Anthony Marino Sr. and Loretta Catherine Mistretta Marino.
Bernie was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and loved going to church daily.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Marino of Morgan City; three nephews, Carlo Anthony Marino III and wife, Danielle, of Denham Springs, Christopher Bernard Marino and wife, Angelle, of Pine Grove, and Luke Marino and wife, Sherrie, of Texas; and four nieces, Carmen Marie Jackson and husband, Jeremy, of Le Claire, Iowa, Angie Hughes and husband, Thomas, Josephine Wise and husband, James, and Bernadette Benson, all of Texas.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carlo Anthony Marino Jr. and Luke Marino; and one nephew, Nicholas Joseph Marino.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 3 p.m. today, Monday, March 10, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Greg Fratt officiating. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until Mass time at Sacred Heart today. Interment followed Mass in the Morgan City Cemetery.
