Patterson native attends canonization of popes

Patterson native Father Michael Russo was ordained by then-Pope John Paul II, who is photographed laying hands on the young priest. Russo now serves in Lafayette as pastor of the Lady of Fatima Church. He attended the canonization Mass of John Paul II in Rome on April 27 and will celebrate his jubilee May 24.

Twenty-five years after the Rev. Michael Russo, a Patterson native, became a priest he returned to Rome to participate in the canonization of the pope who ordained him.

Berwick Elementary hosted Louisiana Week April 28 to May 2. Scott Green, back, one of the owners of D.a.T. Sauce, a family owned and operated company of Morgan City, explained to the students how the special Cajun sauce was created, cooked, bottled, marketed and distributed.
