Berwick council to meet tonight
The town council will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Council Meeting Room at Berwick Town Hall.
The council will have public hearings to amend an ordinance regarding the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages and liquor on streets, sidewalks or in public; for an ordinance to lease waterfront parcels 1, 4 and 5 to D & S Marine Transport; an ordinance to lease waterfront parcels 2 and 3 to Mathilde Wilson Person Properties and Three Brothers Properties; and an ordinance on conditional use to allow boat and marine vessel building and repair.
Also on the agenda is to consider introduction of an ordinance for a sewer rate adjustment.
Resolutions with the St. Mary Parish Levee District and to authorize the chief administrative officer to execute an affidavit concerning installation of water/gas line/sewer on a state right-of-way are on the agenda.
New business includes naming The Daily Review as the town’s official journal for 2014-15 and setting a budget workshop for July 15 and July 22, if needed, at 6 p.m.
Guests at the meeting include St. Mary Levee District Executive Director Tim Matte with the levee system evaluation report, candidate for judge Greg Aucoin, and Marc Distefano with the Fallen Warriors Memorial.
