Tigers win key contest against Vandebilt Catholic, 52-37

The Morgan City High School Tigers picked up a key District 7-4A victory Friday with a 52-37 win against Vandebilt Catholic.

The Patterson High Lumberjills fell to E.D. White 40-28 in their regular season finale Friday in Thibodaux.
The contest also was the Lumberjills’ final District 9-3A game of the season.

Tigers defeat Cardinals in wild OT finish

The Morgan City Tigers soccer team made history Thursday night as they upset E.D. White in overtime, 2-1. The game already had gone through two 10-minute overtime periods and was nearly through two, 5-minute “sudden death” overtime periods in which the game would have ended ended after either team scored. It was in the second sudden death period that Morgan City’s Irving Delgado fired a shot in for the game-winner. The win was not only the Tigers’ first in program history against E.D. White, but it also marked the first time the Tigers will advance
to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs. The Tigers will host No. 3 Bolton Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Division II quarterfinals.
