Eagles roll past Gueydan

The Central Catholic Eagles concluded their regular season with a 41-14 victory at Gueydan Friday. Central Catholic finished its regular season with an 8-2 mark, including a 5-1 record in District 7-1A play. Central Catholic enters the Division IV (Class 1A select) playoffs as the No. 3 seed. Morgan City High School falls short against Assumption, 42-35

Morgan City High School dropped its regular season finale to Assumption High School, 42-35 Friday in Morgan City. Morgan City finished its season with a 2-8 overall mark and 0-4 in District 7-4A. The Morgan City and Assumption football teams didn’t have the seasons they hoped for, but they went toe-to-toe in Friday’s season finale with the Mustangs winning a shootout, 42-35.

Central Catholic will travel to face Ascension Catholic today

No. 10 Central Catholic High School will continue Division V postseason volleyball action today when it travels to No. 7 seed Ascension Catholic. Central Catholic advanced to the regional round by beating West St. John 3-0 Thursday, while Ascension Catholic received a first-round bye. Central Catholic and Ascension Catholic high schools have met once on the volleyball season this year in the first game of the year in a three-game sweep for the Donaldsonville-based school.

Berwick will travel to face Rayne today

No. 12 Berwick High School will hit the road today to face No. 5 Rayne in the regional round of the Division III volleyball playoffs.
