Kaplan holds off WSM
KAPLAN _ The Kaplan Pirates scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to gain a 14-10 District 6-3A win over the West St. Mary Wolfpack here Friday at Kaplan Stadium.
West St. Mary (3-4, 0-2) built a 3-0 lead when kicker Anderson booted a 45-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Kaplan (4-2, 1-1) answered West St. Mary’s score with a touchdown in the second quarter, taking a 7-3 halftime cushion.
In the third quarter, West St. Mary’s Glenn Marsh scored to hand the Wolfpack a 10-7 advantage with a touchdown in the third quarter. Marsh, who racked up 95 yards on 15 carries, had a pair of 50-plus yard touchdowns called back due to penalties.
KHS rallied for a touchdown in the fourth period to pull out the comeback 14-10 victory.
Marsh led the Wolfpack in rushing with 15 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown. LaBryson Polidore had eight carries for 35 yards. TaMon Lockett ran seven times for 12 yards while 28 carried six time for 25 yards.
Marsh connected on 2 of 3 passes for 18 yards on the night.
West St. Mary (3-4, 0-2) will play host to North Vermilion on Friday at Wolfpack Stadium in District 6-3 action.
