The La. 182 bridge over Berwick Bay appears to be safe from being demolished after an announcement Tuesday that the state Department of Transportation and Development has plans to preserve and repair the bridge.

The volume of people coming to City Court has continually increased and laws have become more complicated throughout the 33 years Sostenes Ruiz III has been city prosecutor, he said Friday.

The Morgan City Lady Tigers knocked off Donaldsonville Monday in straight sets, 25-10, 25-21, 25-8, in District 6-III action. The Lady Tigers had five aces and three blocks in the win.
