The St. Mary Parish Council gathered for their second meeting of the month yesterday and aside from congratulating local athletes and meeting a new candidate for the District 3 Congressional Seat, most of the work was in regards to rezoning measures.

Drainage district officials have come up with a permanent solution to fix problems in Morgan City’s Lakeside Subdivision, but the board chairman says the district isn’t authorized to do the work required.

Foundation Hospital poster contest winners announced

The winners, all pictured with Michael Parrie, Director of Glencoe Charter School, and Brandi Collins, House Supervisor for FFH and School Nurse for Glencoe Charter, were, from top: First grade, first place, Annalisse Derbigney; second place, Joanelis Vargas; and third place, Houlden Louviere. Franklin Foundation Hospital held a School Poster Contest during National Hospital Week for the schools in west St. Mary Parish.
