The Morgan City Lady Tigers took the Berwick Lady Panthers to five games and tried to stage a late-game rally in the final set, but Berwick prevailed 3-2 (25-16, 15-25, 25-14, 20-25, 15-12). The District 6-III contest between the two schools also served as Morgan City’s annual “Paint the Pit Pink Game.”
The Teche Theatre for the Performing Arts announces its upcoming fall production written by Ed “Tiger” Verdin of Franklin. Set to open on Harvest Moon Fest weekend, “Undying Love” is the story of a young couple whose lives become intertwined with the attacks on America on Sept. 11, 2001.

Central Catholic High School students recognized

The Central Catholic High School Student of the Month Award is designed to distinguish one outstanding junior high school student and one high school student. This award is an opportunity to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellent leadership ability and motivation. This month, Central Catholic High School has awarded eighth grader Bryce Grizzaffi and senior Mary Frances Aucoin for the honor.
