Two of the Morgan City Housing Authority employees who are accused of receiving improper pay and bonuses will continue to be employed with the authority at least until officials finish investigating the authority’s right to action against state Civil Service classified employees, the housing authority board decided Thursday.

Central Catholic’s Charlie Barron was selected to the Louisiana Sportswriters Association Class 1A All-State Football First Team, and three other Eagles made honorable mention all-state, according to an article published Thursday in The Advocate.

Scout fundraising dinner

The Joe Cefalu Boy Scouts of America Steak Dinner was held Thursday at the St. Mary Senior Citizens Center in Morgan City. The dinner, which was started more than 60 years ago, raises money for the Boy Scouts of America Evangeline Area Council. The event is also a Morgan City Rotary Club project. First Baptist Church plans Christmas program

The adult choir of First Baptist Church, of Morgan City, held a practice Wednesday for its upcoming Christmas program, “All is Well,” which will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday in the church’s sanctuary.
