MORGAN CITY — Though Richard Romaire and Ferris Romaire served thousands of miles apart during World War II, the brothers reunited after the war ended when both were stationed in the Philippines. Richard Romaire, 89, and Ferris Romaire, 88, both of Morgan City, first moved to the city in 1938.

Bank awards scholarship

Each year M C Bank presents a $1,500 scholarship to one senior at each of the four area high schools. The major emphasis in arriving at a winner is the appreciation that student has for his or her hometown. Larry J. Callais, right, M C Bank’s president and CEO, presented this year’s Berwick High School ”Hometown Spirit Scholarship” to Drew L. Landry, son of Mike and Laurie Landry. He has been accepted at LSU where he has chosen a major in business and minor in political science.
