Morgan City government fared well on its annual audit despite having to go through a more extensive auditing process than normal. Gerald Thibodeaux of Kolder, Champagne, Slaven & Co. presented Morgan City’s audit report at Tuesday’s city council meeting for the year ended Dec. 31, 2015.

STATE CHAMPIONS: The Franklin 10U All-Stars seized the Dixie Youth 2016 10U Louisiana AAA State Championship Saturday in Alexandria. Team members are pictured above. They include: Gabe Hebert, Nicolas Mire, Dylan Inzina, Dylan Steiner, Ethan Judice, Reid Lovell, Alonzo Alexander, Landen Walden, Loren Wells, Carter Faucheaux, JohnDavid Hidalgo, Daniel Ibert and Evan Louviere (alternate). Clint Judice is Manager of the team with Heath Lovell and Todd Hebert serving as coaches. The Franklin 10U All-Stars will be playing in the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series in Laurel, Mississippi which will be played August 5-12.

(Submitted by Emily Hidalgo) The 10-year-old All-Star team from Franklin will be representing the state of Louisana in the World Series held in Laurel, Miss. after a heartfelt win for the state title this past Saturday.

“Shrek: The Musical” premiers Saturday, and continues Aug, 1, 3, 4-5 at 7 p.m. There will be a July 31 matinee at 3 p.m. Tickets are available from the Lamplighter on Main Street. The cast took time out from rehearsals to pose for a photo before getting back to readying for the show.
