School scores

Principal Claire Guarisco celebrated with students and staff this morning when she announced Bayou Vista Elementary earned a School Performance Score of A with a score of 104.5. This year marks the first time the school has achieved an A, the highest rating awarded by the state Department of Education.

Fundraiser in Bayou Vista

There was fun for the entire family in Bayou Vista on Saturday. JJ Starbuck Productions presented Octoberfest and Chee-Weez was one of the bands that provided the music. The event included live music, fun jumps, car show and food. All proceeds are being used for new equipment for the Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department. The event was sponsored by Divine Donuts and More, Sears, Lirette Ford, LaPoint’s Cafe and Catering, Aaron’s, author Mary Theriot and A.J. Dohmann.
