No. 14 Morgan City and No. 19 International High School of New Orleans couldn’t decide their Division III first-round playoff game in 80 minutes of regulation. They couldn’t settle the match in two 10-minute overtime periods as well as two five-minute sudden-death periods, either.

Berwick Football Coach Craig Brodie announced this week that he is relinquishing his post as head football coach and will retire at the end of the school year. Brodie told The Daily Review he will reach the retirement age of 55 on March 10. “This is my 32nd year,” he said. “I just felt like this was the right time to do it.”

Berwick to negotiate mitigation for sewer project

The Berwick Council passed a resolution of respect Tuesday for the late Annette Bowman. Bowman recently died at 104 years old. Accepting the plaque from Mayor Louis Ratcliff is Bowman’s daughter Charlotte B. Bowers. (The Daily Review/Zachary Fitzgerald)

Work is moving forward to expand and upgrade Berwick’s sewer system, and officials anticipate finishing the project by the end of the year.
