February’s St. Mary Parish sales tax revenues plunged by 15.7 percent compared with February 2014, but more than half of that drop was due to two large refunds given to taxpayers, said Parish Sales and Use Tax Director Jeffery LaGrange.

Leaders throughout St. Mary Parish are joining Keep St. Mary Beautiful to participate in the second annual “Leaders Against Litter” event March 13. Keep St. Mary Beautiful is one of 23 Keep Louisiana Beautiful affiliate communities across the state selected to host this statewide “litter-thon.”

Long after the last taillight from a visitor’s car that attended the 10th Annual Eagle Expo last weekend faded down the highway, it occurred to me we’ll still be here. By that, I mean every one of us has a responsibility to take care of the little piece of eagle heaven that surrounds Berwick Bay.
