Pianist Lyndsi Maus, a native of Franklin and a 2009 graduate of Hanson Memorial High School will be appearing in concert at the Teche Theatre for the Performing Arts Saturday, Aug. 15
New Orleans Saints legend Deuce McAllister will be the first of three standout local athletes to be inducted into the Allstate Sugar Bowl’s Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame this Saturday, August 8 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The women are getting it done at the world swimming championships. Sarah Sjostrom of Sweden lowered her own world record in the 100-meter butterfly to win gold Monday night, and then Katinka Hosszu of Hungary erased a world mark from the high-tech suit era to claim the 200 individual medley.

Skate park will be open Monday

Stan Robison, who chairs the St. Mary Parish Recreation District No. 3 board, points to some of the new features at the Bayou Vista skate park. The park will be open Monday to give young people one more chance to skate before school opens Thursday.
