Drainage district officials have come up with a permanent solution to fix problems in Morgan City’s Lakeside Subdivision, but the board chairman says the district isn’t authorized to do the work required.
Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrests: Kevin Daigle II, 29, of Arnaudville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with theft and released on a summons.
Former St. Mary Parish Sheriff David Naquin was on hand at the weekly meeting of the Franklin Rotary Club Tuesday to deliver an informative presentation as well as a message for the audience…if criminals leave behind fingerprints, law enforcement has a distinct advantage in identifying them and bringing them to justice.

Low prices and fewer shrimp: Shrimp season's start isn't a happy one

Australian, Kiwi travel agents visit Morgan City on Louisiana tour

A group of 14 travel agents and tour group operators from Australia and New Zealand stopped at the Cajun Coast Visitors and Convention Bureau Welcome and Interpretative Center Monday in Morgan City.
