Central Catholic will hit the road tonight attempting to stop an offensive juggernaut on the court in Hamilton Christian Academy. Not only is the Lake Charles-based school, the No. 7 seed in the Class 1A playoffs capable of scoring lots of points, they also are perfect in the new year.

Eagle Expo seminars, tours scheduled for this weekend

An eagle could be seen at the Extreme Raptors by Johnathan Wood at the Patterson Area Civic Center on Wednesday and Thursday. The event was part of the 10th Annual Eagle Expo and continues through the weekend.

Roaming boat gets secure home

The catamaran that has been drifting around Berwick Bay for nearly two weeks is towed to a secure spot by a Smith Maritime vessel Wednesday. The boat was placed on a sand bar.

The fiberglass catamaran that had been floating around Berwick Bay in the Atchafalaya River appears to have found a secure resting place.
