A large, experienced senior class will lead the Central Catholic Eagle football team into the 2016 season. The Class 1A school has 12 seniors on its 47-player roster.

Morgan City officials have replaced the ex-housing authority chairman on the board with someone who spent his early years living in Brownell Homes and says he wants to be a voice for those who live in public housing.

Some 150 feet of bulkhead is being installed at the site of the Port of West St. Mary’s industrial park on the Charenton Navigation and Drainage Canal. Southern Constructors of New Iberia is building the bulkhead as the site moves closer to fruition. A loading pad is to be constructed in the future.

Donations to AGU Judged Art Show and Sale

Above, Patterson State Bank Assistant Vice President Cindy Cart presents Artist Guild member Flo Tisdale with the bank’s annual donation benefitting the Artist Guild Unlimited of St. Mary Parish.

The Artist Guild Unlimited will hold its 53rd annual Judged Art Show and Sale, the largest in South Louisiana, Aug. 31-Sept. 24. Artists may register for the show 1-4 p.m.
