All ballot propositions except one passed in Saturday’s election. The St. Mary Parish government’s $6.5 million bond proposal with .92 mills to support its newly created road district failed with 1,012 votes or 46.83 percent, in favor to 1,149 votes, or 53.17 percent against.
Easter egg hunts were held Wednesday at Caffery Park in Franklin. The first egg hunt involved parents who quickly filled empty bags as they scrambled about looking for the gold and silver eggs. A large number of fathers and father figures joined in the egg hunting fun and enjoyed the event as much as their children in the next hunt.
Dr. Steven McPherson has been granted a 30-day extension through April on his contract with Franklin Foundation Hospital but Dr. Donna Tesi will be in a 90-day transition period beginning Wednesday.
