Central Catholic will hit the road tonight attempting to stop an offensive juggernaut on the court in Hamilton Christian Academy. Not only is the Lake Charles-based school, the No. 7 seed in the Class 1A playoffs capable of scoring lots of points, they also are perfect in the new year.
The Franklin Fire Department responded with three units and seven personnel to a school bus and car accident on Weber Street at 4:46 p.m., Monday. Fire personnel evaluated everyone involved and there were no injuries. There were 19 students on the bus and three persons in the vehicle.

School scores

Principal Claire Guarisco celebrated with students and staff this morning when she announced Bayou Vista Elementary earned a School Performance Score of A with a score of 104.5. This year marks the first time the school has achieved an A, the highest rating awarded by the state Department of Education.
