A plan is now in place to begin work to certify the city’s backwater levees for flood protection with construction expected to be completed on a portion of the project by the end of 2015, according to officials.

Dedication ceremonies at Holy Cross Elementary

The administrative building at Holy Cross Elementary was recently renamed the Mamie Siracusa Bergeron Administration Building in recognition of Principal Mamie Bergeron’s 50 years of service to the school. Behind her family members is the cross they donated affixed to the exterior of the building named in her honor.
