Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported this morning that a person was killed after being struck by a train Wednesday. Police responded to a 6:16 p.m. report of the incident at the railroad intersection with Tenth Street. The train was reportedly traveling west, and the victim was walking on the tracks, McGuire said.
Members of the Atchafalaya Golf Course Commission will be asked to issue requests for proposals from management companies. The St. Mary Parish Council approved the request Wednesday after hearing from representatives of one such company, Toucshtone Golf Management.
