Patterson High School’s golf team is competing today in the Division III, Region II (District 3 and 4) golf tournament at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild near Patterson. If participants are unable to get in all 18 holes today due to inclement weather, then on Wednesday teams will pick up where they left off to complete the round.

Helping Hearts honors Edward B. Jones

Edward B. Jones was the 2015 honoree at Saturday's Helping Hearts Foundation banquest at the St. Mary Senior Citizen Center. Jones founded St. Mary'schapter of 100 Black Men and worked as an NAACP voter empowerment coordinator for Louisiana in 2004. To his left is Erica Johnson Rose, assistant district attorney, who was the banquet's guest speaker.
