It took police two years to finally arrest Shaneal Williams on warrants for hit and run, improper backing and no driver’s license.
The Franklin Merchants Association presents the 15th Annual Harvest Moon Festival. The festival will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Festivities will take place along Franklin’s Main Street, the Bayou Teche Scenic Byway. There is no admission fee.
The Franklin Fire Department is supporting the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink uniform shirts. Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Hildreth said, “My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I know firsthand how important regular screening and prompt intervention is.
