Morgan City man arrested for attempted murder
A 23-year-old Morgan City man was arrested Monday by Franklin police for attempted first degree murder stemming from a Dec. 1 shooting and armed robbery, Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said in a news release.
Jamarcus Clark, 23, of Orange Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Monday, on warrants for the attempted first degree murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Dec. 1 on Canal Drive in Franklin.
Detectives were investigating a shooting that occurred as the result of a drug related armed robbery, McGuire said. The investigation is ongoing. Clark was jailed at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center where he remains.
