St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 29 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Sade L. Lemon, 22, of the 400 block of Neptune Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule I (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule IV (Xanax), and possession of Legend Drug (Flexeril) without a prescription.
—Andronique M. Lemons, 23, of the 400 block of Neptune Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Kevin J. Gant, 26, of the 400 block of Neptune Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule I synthetic cannabinoids-third offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Narcotics division detectives conducted an investigation in the 400 block of Neptune Street in Bayou Vista. Detectives received consent to search the residence and located marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids, rolling papers, Xanax pills, and Flexeril pills, Hebert said. All three people were jailed. No bail is set for Sade Lemon or Gant. Bail is set at $3,500 for Andronique Lemon.
—Cody Wyble, 31, of the 200 block of Texas Eastern Road in Opelousas, was arrested at 1:41 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Wyble was released on a summons to appear in court on May 22.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Cherie Lodrigues, 38, of Second Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids and violation of controlled dangerous substance law in a drug-free zone.
—Kenneth Litteral, 31, of the 400 block of Texas Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7 p.m. Tuesday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute, violation of a drug-free zone, illegal possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of juveniles and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.
—Lennis Paray, 29, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7 p.m. Tuesday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police conducted an investigation into illegal drug activity near Berwick Elementary School, Richard said. Lodrigues was stopped with a bag of synthetic cannabinoids she purchased at a residence in the 400 block of Texas Street, Richard said.
Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Texas Street and found Litteral with synthetic cannabinoids inside along with three children under age 8, Richard said. Paray was also found with synthetic cannabinoids while the search was being conducted, Richard said. All three were jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Anthony E. James, 28, of Patterson, was arrested at 12:39 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for loud music.
James was located at the Patterson Police Department, taken to the Morgan City Jail, and released after posting cash bail.
—Brandy M. Jones, 29, of Lafayette, was arrested at 2:42 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for criminal trespass.
Jones turned herself in to the Morgan City Police Department and was released after posting cash bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
