Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Earl L. Garrison, 50, and Lavita I. Francis, 48, both of Egle Street in Morgan City, were arrested at 1:21 a.m. today for possession of Schedule II-crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law.
Detectives executed a search warrant at an Egle Street residence as a result of complaints of illegal drug activity at the location. During the search, investigators recovered suspected crack cocaine and items of paraphernalia. The residents, Garrison and Francis, were jailed. The residence was within 1,000 feet of a school zone, which led to an additional charge, Crouch said.
Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Kumaravel P. Nadar, 42, of La. 70 in Morgan City, was arrested at 1 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for a probation violation.
Nadar turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department and was jailed.
—Breyden J. Oncale, 21, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for criminal damage to property.
Oncale was located in the City Court and jailed stemming from a June 2013 incident.
—Charlotte L. Francis, 43, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:29 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance-Tramadol.
An officer was summoned to City Court to assist a city marshal officer who reported that a female, identified as Francis, was found to be in possession of several tablets of Tramadol, Crouch said. Francis, who was entering a security check point area, was observed to be in possession of the tablets and detained by the officer. Francis was jailed.
—Dennis E. Hubbard, 31, of Tyler, Texas, was arrested at 1:49 a.m. today for improper lighting and possession of marijuana.
An officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Myrtle Street and La. 182 and stopped the vehicle. The driver, Hubbard, was detained and was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 44 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Christina L. Pitre, 34, of the 2900 block of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family and theft of goods and a third warrant for probation violation. Pitre was jailed at the Morgan City Jail with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Alphonso Williams, 40, of the 700 block of Seyburn Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:42 a.m. today for simple battery. Williams was jailed on $406 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
